While anchored off the coast at Magdalla’s outer anchorage, MV Kenstar lost one of its main anchors along with its heavy cable—together weighing a massive 20 tons. The loss occurred in waters 27 meters deep, where visibility is minimal and seabed conditions are unpredictable.
Recovering such a heavy and essential component from the seafloor demanded more than just routine diving—it required experience, precision, and the right equipment.
Our Response
SeaDogs Pvt. Ltd. mobilized swiftly with our trained commercial diving team, recovery tools, and lifting gear. The mission included:
Underwater search & location of the anchor using sonar and diver-led grid search
Assessment of seabed conditions and recovery angle
Deployment of specialized lifting gear suitable for subsea operations and heavy loads
Secure attachment of rigging under challenging current and visibility conditions
Once the anchor and cable were located and properly rigged, we used a combination of surface lift equipment and subsea buoyancy aids to raise the 8-ton anchor and 12-ton cable to the surface safely.
