Shell Hazira LNG – Robotic Dredging in Extreme Conditions

When others said “It’s impossible,” Sea Dogs India said “Watch us do it.” At Shell India’s Hazira LNG Energy Facility, we were trusted with one of the most difficult marine maintenance challenges: 👉 Desilting a fully packed seawater intake chamber — a space so tight and hostile that no conventional dredge pump, boat, or diver could operate inside. This wasn’t routine dredging. This was robot vs 25 years of hardened silt.

The Challenge

• Chamber packed with 25+ years of solidified silt
• Space too small for dredgers or human entry
• Zero margin for error — this system cools LNG for a major energy plant
• Visibility near zero, sediment hard like concrete

The Result

💪 Hardened silt broken
💦 Water flow restored
⚙️ System reliability recovered
📸 Full visual documentation delivered
🛡️ Zero human risk

We didn’t just clean a chamber.
We reclaimed a critical energy artery.

Our Game-Changing Robotic Attack
We didn’t bring machines. We brought precision robotics.

🔹 Hydrobot-V – Remote Robotic Dredging Boat

Custom-built for tight, dangerous environments, equipped with:

✔ Live cameras
✔ High-intensity lights
✔ Remote navigation control
✔ Powerful suction and cutting ability

🔹 Sonar ROV – Underwater Eyes & Intelligence

Before cutting anything, we mapped everything:

✔ Sonar imaging of buried sediment
✔ Real-time underwater inspection
✔ Progress reporting with visuals Shell could trust

🔹 Pipe Cleaning Crawler Robot – The Finisher

Where humans couldn’t go, our crawler went:

✔ Entered narrow pipelines
✔ Scraped, cleaned, and restored flow
✔ Removed scale, sludge, and stubborn deposits
